Normally the body's natural defenses and good oral health care, such as daily brushing and flossing, keep bacteria under control. However, without proper oral hygiene, bacteria can reach levels that might lead to oral infections, such as tooth decay and gum disease.

**Change your toothbrush every 2 months.

**Brush at least twice a day.

**Use a water-pic at least once a day before bed. 

**Gargle with peroxide and mouthwash to help with bacteria, bad breath, cigarette breath and the overall health of your teeth.

**Floss after each meal to help remove any food that is stuck in your teeth.
